Featured Artist: Scott Stele

Scott Steele was born in Niagara on the Lake, Ontario, Canada, where he first started cartooning, drawing pen and ink landscapes and architecture studies.

Scott attended Graphic Design at George Brown College in Toronto briefly, but left to pursue a modelling career that allowed him to live in Europe and Asia. It was during that time period that his artistic spark was ignited.

Upon leaving the fashion industry, Scott attended the International Academy of Merchandising and Design for Interior Design. He graduated with his diploma and started Petersiel Steele Design with his future wife, Judy Petersiel.

As his interest in art progressed, Scott began to paint full time in the photo realistic genre. These paintings were widely sought after, and sold all over the world. Further down the road, Scott began to experiment in a more Abstract Expressionistic style, inspired by his love of Northern Ontario.

Scott's influences include Canadian artists Mary and Christopher Pratt and Alex Colville, American artist Richard Estes and architects Mies van der Rohe and Richard Meier. He also takes inspiration from the paintings of European and American masters such as Picasso, Warhol and Hopper.

Scott opened Brush gallery in
Toronto's Historic Distillery District in 2002, but now focusses solely on painting and honing his craft. He has been published extensively and has been represented in galleries in Toronto, New York, San Francisco and Whistler, with private and corporate collections all over the world. Reflected by the evolution of his art and his desire to fulfill personal artistic goals, Steele believes he will never focus solely on one style of painting.

Scott lives and works in Toronto, and believes his best works of art are his two children, Zoë and Noah.

We currently have a number of Scott Steele’s original artwork available for purchase in our showroom and any of his artwork can be printed in house at any size!
